we decided to have a level II ultrasound done with this pregnancy since our first son, aleksander, was born with a cleft lip and palate. we felt that the emotional preparation for a potential problem would be invaluable after having undergone tremendous struggle once already. these ultrasonic photographs were taken at 20 weeks gestation. we were greatly reassured to find that the baby we are expecting appears to be normal by all accounts. no, we did not find out the gender.
